Podcasts: a new obsession

I recently "discovered" podcasts. Not that I didn't know they existed before, because of course I did. I just never had the time/interest/whatever to check them out. My sibling and several friends have been bugging me to try them and making suggestions for awhile now. When my dog walking business took off, and I realized I was spending A TON of time in the car driving between furry clients, I realized I needed something besides musical music to listen to every day. I didn't actually think I could get tired of musical music, but here we are.

I investigated Spotify's choices, randomly picked a genre, and discovered Potterless. Potterless began in 2016, so again I am super late to this party, but hey at least I found it! Potterless is narrated by a hilarious guy named Mike who is 24 (at least in 2016 when he started) and reading the Harry Potter series for the first time. He brings in Harry Potter obsessed guests, and he snarkily points out plot holes, complains about Quidditch, and ultimately falls just as in love with the series as the rest of us long-time Potterheads. Its fantastic and I love it. It has made me want to go back and read the series (again). Over the past week-and-a-half of driving around to pet doggos, I have listened up through (I believe) episode 12, which brings us to the end of book 3, Prisoner of Azkaban. I would love to re-read Goblet of Fire before continuing the podcast, but my college classes start back up today so sadly I don't think I am going to have time. Doesn't make the podcast any less awesome though.

Thanks to Potterless, I have also discovered Spirits Podcast, in which two lovely female narrators get drunk and discuss various tales from mythology and legend. You get real information (from a legit history major!), sass, and drink recipes in every episode. I've only made it through two episodes of that podcast so far, but I really enjoy Amanda and Julia and the girl power is a nice bonus.

A friend just gave me a huge list of additional podcasts to check out, so as I work my way through them I will post more about them here! Tell me some of your favorites in the comments!

Until next time, may harmony find you. :o)
